FOREST Exhibition November 4 to 13 2011 |
| |
On the occasion of the INTERNATIONAL FOREST YEAR , Catherine LE BARON presents
her latest sculptures around this theme. On entering her allegorical forest, we are welcomed
by an Indian, a Xikrim Chief of impressive dignity. Male and female bodies seemingly clad
in bark are exhibited around him.Farther,a life tree opens up its branches towards what one
hopes is a better future. Here again,a stump with its pure lines suggests a different inclusion
in time. The human and vegetal elements are united in a cohabitation that is at the same
time bold and harmonious.Between symbolism and figurative style,Catherine LE BARON
places the body in perspective,to better enhance and magnify it.In this vibrating forest, her
sculptures fascinate us with her sensitive approach.
